Das Lungenadenokarzinom ist ein Subtyp, der ~ 40% aller Lungenkrebserkrankungen ausmacht. Es wird durch Mutationen in schleimproduzierenden Dr\u00fcsenzellen der Lunge verursacht. Im Durchschnitt w\u00e4chst das Lungenadenokarzinom langsamer als andere Subtypen von Lungenkrebs. Um die genetischen Grundlagen dieses Krebses besser zu verstehen, untersuchte diese Studie die Genome von ~ 67.000 Personen. Die Forscher identifizierten 6 neue Regionen, die mit Lungenadenokarzinom assoziiert sind. Die H\u00e4lfte dieser Regionen befindet sich in der N\u00e4he von Genen, die mit der Telomerl\u00e4nge zusammenh\u00e4ngen und sich mit dem Alter verk\u00fcrzen.
