Manchmal kann das Immunsystem einer Person jedoch die k\u00f6rpereigenen Zellen angreifen und eine Autoimmunerkrankung verursachen. Wenn das Immunsystem die Schilddr\u00fcse, ein bogenf\u00f6rmiges, hormonproduzierendes Organ im Nacken, angreift und zerst\u00f6rt, kann es den Herzschlag verlangsamen, eine Gewichtszunahme verursachen und dazu f\u00fchren, dass es sich kalt, m\u00fcde und depressiv anf\u00fchlt. Diese Studie untersuchte genetische Daten von \u00fcber 30.000 Patienten mit Autoimmunerkrankungen der Schilddr\u00fcse und \u00fcber 700.000 gesunden Kontrollpersonen (europ\u00e4ischer Abstammung) und entdeckte 99 genetische Varianten, von denen 84 neu sind und mit Autoimmunerkrankungen der Schilddr\u00fcse assoziiert sind. Eine der entdeckten Varianten reduziert die Produktion des FLT3-Rezeptors. Als Reaktion darauf produziert der K\u00f6rper mehr Signalmolek\u00fcle, die an das FLT3-Rezeptorprotein binden, was die Funktion des Immunsystems beeintr\u00e4chtigt und das Risiko einer Autoimmunerkrankung der Schilddr\u00fcse erh\u00f6ht.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>HAST DU GEWUSST?<\/strong> Die Hashimoto-Krankheit und die Basedow-Krankheit werden beide durch das Immunsystem verursacht, das die Schilddr\u00fcse angreift. Bei der Hashimoto-Krankheit t\u00f6tet das Immunsystem Schilddr\u00fcsenzellen ab, was zu einer verminderten Funktion der Schilddr\u00fcse f\u00fchrt.
