Tats\u00e4chlich erkranken etwa 13% der Frauen in den USA im Laufe ihres Lebens an Brustkrebs. Brustkrebsarten k\u00f6nnen anhand von Tumormarkern klassifiziert werden, beispielsweise anhand der Rezeptoren auf der Oberfl\u00e4che von Krebszellen. Luminal A-like ist ein Subtyp von Brustkrebs mit der besten Prognose und macht 30-45% der Brustkrebsf\u00e4lle aus. Es ist gekennzeichnet durch Krebszellen, die aus den inneren oder luminalen Zellen stammen, die die Brustg\u00e4nge auskleiden. Dar\u00fcber hinaus ist dieser Brustkrebs-Subtyp durch ein krebsartiges Wachstum als Reaktion auf \u00fcbersch\u00fcssiges \u00d6strogen gekennzeichnet.
