Manchmal kann die Interpretation des Gehirns jedoch falsch sein, was zu optischen T\u00e4uschungen f\u00fchren kann. Eine solche optische T\u00e4uschung ist als Ebbinghaus-T\u00e4uschung bekannt. Wenn ein Kreis von anderen Kreisen umgeben ist, kann er abh\u00e4ngig von der Gr\u00f6\u00dfe der umgebenden Kreise gr\u00f6\u00dfer oder kleiner als seine tats\u00e4chliche Gr\u00f6\u00dfe erscheinen. Einzelne Menschen sind in unterschiedlichem Ma\u00dfe von der Ebbinghaus-Illusion betroffen. Um den Einfluss der Genetik auf die Wahrnehmung der Ebbinghaus-Illusion durch eine Person zu identifizieren, untersuchte diese Studie das Genom von fast 3.000 Personen asiatischer Abstammung und fand 70 Varianten, die mit einer \u00dcbersch\u00e4tzung der Gr\u00f6\u00dfe des zentralen Kreises verbunden sind.
