F\u00fcr das Herz ist das System, das sein Blut liefert, als Herzkreislauf bekannt. Eine Erkrankung der Koronararterien tritt auf, wenn die Koronararterien besch\u00e4digt oder erkrankt sind. Infolge einer verminderten Durchblutung kann weniger Sauerstoff das Herz erreichen. Im Laufe der Zeit kann dies zu Herzinfarkten f\u00fchren, wodurch die Erkrankung der Herzkranzgef\u00e4\u00dfe sowohl f\u00fcr M\u00e4nner als auch f\u00fcr Frauen die h\u00e4ufigste Todesursache ist. Um die genetischen Faktoren zu identifizieren, die zur Entwicklung einer Erkrankung der Herzkranzgef\u00e4\u00dfe beitragen, wurden in dieser Studie \u00fcber 168.000 Personen japanischer Abstammung untersucht. Eine transethnische Analyse, die auch Daten von Europ\u00e4ern umfasste, ergab 175 Genomregionen, die mit der Erkrankung in verschiedenen Ethnien assoziiert sind. Dies umfasste 40 bisher nicht bekannte genetische Varianten.
