Obwohl h\u00e4ufig soziologischen Faktoren zugeschrieben, gibt es verschiedene genetische Faktoren, die die Sch\u00f6nheit des Gesichts bei M\u00e4nnern und Frauen beeinflussen. Diese genomweite Assoziationsstudie identifizierte zwei geschlechtsspezifische genetische Varianten, die mit diesem Merkmal assoziiert sind, indem \u00fcber 4.000 Personen europ\u00e4ischer Abstammung untersucht wurden. Zus\u00e4tzlich deckte die Studie Assoziationen zwischen den identifizierten Varianten und Geweben auf, die an der Reproduktion und Hormonproduktion beteiligt sind.
