Netzhautabl\u00f6sung ist eine schwerwiegende Erkrankung, die auftritt, wenn die Netzhaut aus ihrer normalen Position gezogen und dabei besch\u00e4digt wird. Wenn die Krankheit nicht sofort behandelt wird, kann dies zu dauerhafter Blindheit f\u00fchren. Obwohl h\u00e4ufig, ist die genetische Veranlagung f\u00fcr diesen Zustand nicht gut verstanden. Um genetische Risikofaktoren f\u00fcr diesen Zustand zu bestimmen, analysierte diese Studie das Genom von \u00fcber 5.000 Personen europ\u00e4ischer Abstammung, die unter Abl\u00f6sung litten.
