Sie sind die h\u00e4ufigste Hirnst\u00f6rung und betreffen 14% der Erwachsenen. Derzeit wurden nur wenige genetische Faktoren gefunden, die mit einer erh\u00f6hten Veranlagung f\u00fcr die Erkrankung verbunden sind. Diese genomweite Assoziationsstudie identifizierte 12 assoziierte genetische Varianten, von denen 5 neu sind, indem \u00fcber 100.000 Individuen europ\u00e4ischer Abstammung untersucht wurden. Die meisten der entdeckten Varianten befinden sich in oder in der N\u00e4he von Genen, die eine Rolle bei der synaptischen Funktion spielen.
