Es hat nicht die fr\u00fchen Symptome (Aura), die andere Arten von Migr\u00e4ne haben, wie Schwindel, prickelnde Haut oder Schw\u00e4che. Sie scheinen vererbbar zu sein, es wurden jedoch nur wenige genetische Varianten entdeckt. Diese Studie identifizierte mehrere genetische Varianten, die mit dieser Erkrankung assoziiert sind, bei 6.906 deutschen und niederl\u00e4ndischen Personen, von denen die bedeutendsten in den Genen MEF2D, PHACTR1 und ASTN2 sowie in der N\u00e4he des TGFBR2-Gens waren. MEF2D wird im Gehirn stark exprimiert und hilft Neuronen, Signale zu bilden und zu senden. PHACTR1 spielt eine Rolle bei der synaptischen Aktivit\u00e4t (Synapsen erm\u00f6glichen es Neuronen, Signale an andere Zellen weiterzuleiten). Das Produkt des ASTN2-Gens hilft Neuronen, sich von Gliazellen zu bewegen. Dies sind Zellen, die Neuronen umgeben und Unterst\u00fctzung bieten.
