Das Vitamin tr\u00e4gt dazu bei, dass der K\u00f6rper die Mineralien Kalzium und Phosphor aufnimmt und speichert, die f\u00fcr den Aufbau starker Knochen wichtig sind. In dieser Studie wollten die Forscher die genetischen Determinanten des Vitamin-D-Spiegels verstehen, indem sie eine genomweite Assoziationsstudie mit ~ 400.000 Personen europ\u00e4ischer Abstammung durchf\u00fchrten. Die Studie identifizierte 69 genetische Regionen, die mit dem Vitaminspiegel assoziiert sind, von denen 63 neu sind.
