In etwas mehr als einem Jahr infizierte es 8000 Menschen und verursachte weltweit \u00fcber 900 Todesf\u00e4lle. Typische Symptome sind hohes Fieber, Kopfschmerzen und trockener Husten. Fr\u00fchere Studien haben das gezeigt<em> Interferone<\/em> kann die Replikation des SARS hemmen<em> Coronavirus<\/em> durch Induzieren der Produktion von antiviralen Proteinen wie MxA. Diese Studie zeigte, dass eine genetische Variante (rs17000900) in der N\u00e4he des MxA-Gens seine Aktivit\u00e4t beeinflusst, wenn Zellen ausgesetzt werden<em> Interferone<\/em> . Die Studie untersuchte auch die genetische Information von \u00fcber 1200 Personen chinesischer Abstammung und stellte eine Beziehung zwischen dieser genetischen Variante und dem SARS-Risiko her<em> Coronavirus<\/em> Infektion. He earned an M.S. and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) Ph.D. program at Harvard University.\u00a0He has experience in science policy as an intern at the Science and Innovation Network where he assisted in the science diplomacy functions of the British Consulate-General and as a research associate at TScan Therapeutics.
