Insulin, ein von der Bauchspeicheldr\u00fcse produziertes Hormon, hilft den K\u00f6rperzellen, Glukose aus dem Blut aufzunehmen und als Energiequelle zu nutzen. Typ-2-Diabetes (T2D) tritt auf, wenn die Bauchspeicheldr\u00fcse nicht gen\u00fcgend Insulin produziert oder die K\u00f6rperzellen nicht auf Insulin reagieren. Dies f\u00fchrt zu einem hohen Blutzuckerspiegel, der die Nerven, Blutgef\u00e4\u00dfe, Nieren und andere Organe sch\u00e4digen kann. W\u00e4hrend Umweltfaktoren, insbesondere die Ern\u00e4hrung, Risikofaktoren f\u00fcr T2D sind, kann auch eine Anf\u00e4lligkeit vererbt werden. Diese multiethnische genomweite Studie mit \u00fcber 71.000 Personen identifizierte einen neuartigen Ort, der mit dem Risiko der Entwicklung von T2D verbunden ist, und erh\u00f6hte die Gesamtzahl der bekannten Orte auf 10. Die neue Variante ist in der N\u00e4he der<a href=\"https:\/\/nebula.org\/blog\/de\/apolipoprotein-e-apoe\/\"> APOE<\/a> Gen, das hilft, Fette im Blut zu transportieren.
