Allein in den USA sind fast eine Million Menschen von Morbus Crohn betroffen. Typische Symptome sind Schmerzen, Durchfall und Gewichtsverlust. Um die Genetik von Morbus Crohn besser zu verstehen, wurden in dieser Studie \u00fcber 40.000 Personen europ\u00e4ischer Herkunft untersucht. Die Analyse deckte 71 mit Morbus Crohn assoziierte genetische Varianten auf, darunter 39 erstmals gemeldete Varianten.
