Diese Studie entwickelte einen Algorithmus zur Vorhersage des Alters anhand von Gehirnbildern. Der vorhergesagte Altersunterschied (PAD), ein Ma\u00df f\u00fcr das beschleunigte Altern, wurde berechnet, indem das chronologische Alter vom vorhergesagten Alter abgezogen wurde. Die berechneten PADs wurden in einer genomweiten Assoziationsanalyse verwendet, die \u00fcber 16.000 Teilnehmer europ\u00e4ischer Abstammung umfasste und zwei genetische Varianten mit einer beschleunigten Hirnalterung verkn\u00fcpfte.
