M\u00e1s espec\u00edficamente, las membranas de nuestras c\u00e9lulas est\u00e1n compuestas principalmente de grasa. Adem\u00e1s, las grasas tambi\u00e9n permiten que ciertas vitaminas sean absorbidas por los intestinos. En promedio, los adultos consumen de 44 a 77 gramos de grasa por d\u00eda. Para identificar las variantes gen\u00e9ticas asociadas con el consumo de grasas, este estudio de asociaci\u00f3n de todo el genoma examin\u00f3 los genomas de m\u00e1s de 260.000 individuos de ascendencia europea. El estudio identific\u00f3 6 variantes gen\u00e9ticas asociadas con el consumo de grasas. Uno de ellos, la variante rs429358 en el<a href=\"https:\/\/nebula.org\/blog\/es\/apolipoproteina-e-apoe\/\"> APOE<\/a> gen y se ha relacionado previamente con el riesgo de enfermedad de Alzheimer. Espec\u00edficamente, el alelo rs429358 T se asocia con un mayor consumo de grasas y una disminuci\u00f3n del riesgo de Alzheimer.
