Si bien los factores ambientales como la nutrici\u00f3n tienen una fuerte influencia en el crecimiento del cuerpo humano, est\u00e1 claro que la altura es un rasgo altamente heredable. De hecho, se cree que hasta el 80% de la altura de una persona est\u00e1 determinada gen\u00e9ticamente. Sin embargo, la altura es un rasgo muy complejo influenciado por muchas variantes en el genoma. Para identificar variantes gen\u00e9ticas asociadas a la altura, este estudio examin\u00f3 a m\u00e1s de 250.000 individuos de ascendencia europea. Los investigadores descubrieron 697 variantes gen\u00e9ticas asociadas con la altura. En conjunto, estas variantes explican ~ 16% de las diferencias de altura observadas entre las personas.
