Para identificar los factores gen\u00e9ticos que se correlacionan con el riesgo de desarrollar esta enfermedad, este estudio analiz\u00f3 datos gen\u00e9ticos de 9 estudios previos de asociaci\u00f3n de todo el genoma. Con este an\u00e1lisis, seleccionaron 29,807 variantes gen\u00e9ticas para un estudio adicional. Estas variantes se estudiaron en 45.290 casos y 41.880 controles de ascendencia europea. El an\u00e1lisis descubri\u00f3 41 variantes gen\u00e9ticas novedosas que est\u00e1n asociadas. Si bien 7 de estas variantes se encuentran dentro o cerca de genes conocidos de susceptibilidad al c\u00e1ncer de mama, la mayor\u00eda de las variantes est\u00e1n asociadas con genes relacionados con la muerte y diferenciaci\u00f3n celular. En total, estas variantes explican aproximadamente el 30% del riesgo familiar de desarrollar la enfermedad.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>\u00bfSAB\u00cdAS?<\/strong> Las mujeres que dan a luz a su primer hijo a los 35 a\u00f1os o menos tienden a tener un riesgo menor de desarrollar c\u00e1ncer de mama en comparaci\u00f3n con las mujeres que no tienen hijos o las que tienen hijos a una edad posterior. Adem\u00e1s, cuantos m\u00e1s hijos tenga, menor ser\u00e1 su riesgo.
