Este estudio examin\u00f3 a 51 372 individuos de ascendencia danesa e islandesa con el fin de encontrar variantes gen\u00e9ticas asociadas con la CUD. La asociaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s fuerte identificada fue con una variante que disminuye la expresi\u00f3n del gen CHRNA2 en el cerebro. Este gen codifica una parte del receptor nicot\u00ednico de acetilcolina, que es una prote\u00edna que permite que ciertas mol\u00e9culas pasen a la c\u00e9lula cuando las sustancias qu\u00edmicas nicotina o acetilcolina se unen a \u00e9l. Las variantes en el gen CHRNA2 tambi\u00e9n se han relacionado con la dependencia de la nicotina.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>\u00bfSAB\u00cdAS?<\/strong> Actualmente, las opciones de tratamiento para la CUD son bastante limitadas. Sin embargo, varios tipos de terapia conductual parecen funcionar bien.
