Una alta densidad mineral \u00f3sea significa huesos m\u00e1s fuertes y un menor riesgo de fracturas y osteoporosis. Este estudio de todo el genoma analiz\u00f3 los genomas de m\u00e1s de 142.000 individuos de ascendencia europea y descubri\u00f3 153 variantes gen\u00e9ticas novedosas que est\u00e1n asociadas con la densidad mineral \u00f3sea. En total, el estudio informa 307 variantes gen\u00e9ticas independientes que explican en conjunto ~ 12% de la variaci\u00f3n en la densidad mineral \u00f3sea.
