Los co\u00e1gulos de sangre que se desprenden y viajan a los \u00f3rganos pueden provocar afecciones potencialmente mortales. Aunque la coagulaci\u00f3n de la sangre es com\u00fan, no se conocen bien los factores de riesgo gen\u00e9ticos que contribuyen. Este estudio de asociaci\u00f3n de todo el genoma examin\u00f3 a 200.000 individuos de ascendencia europea y afroamericana para identificar variantes gen\u00e9ticas asociadas con el tromboembolismo venoso.
