La longitud de los tel\u00f3meros (TL) se mide t\u00edpicamente en<em> leucocitos<\/em> de muestras de sangre. Se puede utilizar como<em> biomarcador<\/em> para el envejecimiento y las enfermedades relacionadas con la edad como la enfermedad de las arterias coronarias y algunos c\u00e1nceres. Este genoma<em> metaan\u00e1lisis<\/em> de m\u00e1s de 78.000 individuos de ascendencia europea buscaron identificar las regiones gen\u00f3micas asociadas con los leucocitos TL para comprender mejor c\u00f3mo se regula la longitud de los tel\u00f3meros.
