Para comprender mejor la gen\u00e9tica que ayuda a determinar el riesgo de c\u00e1ncer de p\u00e1ncreas, este estudio examin\u00f3 a 21.494 personas de ascendencia europea y asi\u00e1tica. Identific\u00f3 tres nuevas variantes gen\u00e9ticas asociadas con un mayor riesgo de desarrollar esta afecci\u00f3n. Una de estas variantes estaba en el gen LINC00673, que anteriormente se hab\u00eda encontrado que desempe\u00f1aba un papel en el c\u00e1ncer. Otra variante significativa se localiz\u00f3 en el gen SUGCT. La prote\u00edna SUGCT participa en el metabolismo del amino\u00e1cido glutarato. Finalmente, se encontr\u00f3 asociada una variante en el gen TP63. TP63 tambi\u00e9n se conoce como p63 y juega un papel en la regulaci\u00f3n del ciclo celular y la progresi\u00f3n de los tumores. En conjunto, las variantes identificadas representaron aproximadamente el 2% de la heredabilidad de esta enfermedad.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>\u00bfSAB\u00cdAS?<\/strong> No fumar, mantener un peso saludable, limitar el consumo de alcohol y evitar la exposici\u00f3n a ciertas sustancias qu\u00edmicas en el lugar de trabajo son formas en las que puede reducir el riesgo de c\u00e1ncer de p\u00e1ncreas.
