Para comprender mejor el papel del genoma fetal, este estudio analiz\u00f3 los genomas de casi 154.000 individuos de ascendencia europea, afroamericana, china, filipina, surinam\u00e9s, turca y marroqu\u00ed. El estudio descubri\u00f3 60 variantes gen\u00e9ticas asociadas con el peso al nacer. Algunas de estas variantes gen\u00e9ticas revelaron una relaci\u00f3n entre el bajo peso al nacer y el desarrollo de presi\u00f3n arterial alta, diabetes tipo 2 y enfermedad de las arterias coronarias m\u00e1s adelante en la vida. Por el contrario, el alto peso al nacer mostr\u00f3 una posible conexi\u00f3n con la obesidad. Algunas de las variantes descubiertas est\u00e1n cerca de genes involucrados en nuestro metabolismo, lo que indica c\u00f3mo estas variantes podr\u00edan influir en el peso al nacer.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>\u00bfSAB\u00cdAS?<\/strong> Durante el embarazo, se recomienda hacer ejercicio con regularidad, asegurar una ingesta suficiente de vitaminas (en particular, \u00e1cido f\u00f3lico y calcio) y abstenerse de consumir alcohol, fumar y drogas. <a
