En fait, environ 13% des femmes aux \u00c9tats-Unis d\u00e9veloppent un cancer du sein au cours de leur vie. Les types de cancer du sein peuvent \u00eatre class\u00e9s par marqueurs tumoraux, tels que les r\u00e9cepteurs trouv\u00e9s \u00e0 la surface des cellules canc\u00e9reuses. Luminal A-like est un sous-type de cancer du sein avec le meilleur pronostic, et il repr\u00e9sente 30 \u00e0 45% des cas de cancer du sein. Elle est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par des cellules canc\u00e9reuses provenant des cellules internes ou luminales qui tapissent les canaux mammaires. De plus, ce sous-type de cancer du sein est caract\u00e9ris\u00e9 par une croissance canc\u00e9reuse en r\u00e9ponse \u00e0 un exc\u00e8s d&rsquo;\u0153strog\u00e8ne. Cette \u00e9tude d&rsquo;association \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle du g\u00e9nome a examin\u00e9 pr\u00e8s de 266 000 personnes d&rsquo;ascendance europ\u00e9enne pour identifier des variantes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques associ\u00e9es \u00e0 diff\u00e9rents types de cancer du sein, y compris le cancer du sein luminal de type A. Au total, les chercheurs ont identifi\u00e9 330 r\u00e9gions g\u00e9nomiques associ\u00e9es aux types de cancer du sein et les ont utilis\u00e9es pour calculer les scores polyg\u00e9niques.
