L&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur de la corn\u00e9e est un indicateur bien \u00e9tudi\u00e9 de la sant\u00e9 oculaire, et une \u00e9paisseur r\u00e9duite a \u00e9t\u00e9 li\u00e9e \u00e0 des maladies de l&rsquo;\u0153il telles que le glaucome. Cette \u00e9tude d&rsquo;association pang\u00e9nomique visait \u00e0 identifier les r\u00e9gions g\u00e9nomiques li\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur au centre de la corn\u00e9e. En examinant les informations g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques de plus de 44 000 individus d&rsquo;origine ethnique blanche, hispanique, asiatique et afro-am\u00e9ricaine non hispanique, l&rsquo;\u00e9tude a trouv\u00e9 98 r\u00e9gions du g\u00e9nome associ\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur de la corn\u00e9e centrale. Parmi ceux-ci, 41 \u00e9taient nouveaux dans cette \u00e9tude. Ensemble, toutes les variantes de cette \u00e9tude peuvent expliquer environ 14% de la variation individuelle de l&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur corn\u00e9enne centrale. Certaines de ces variantes identifi\u00e9es se sont \u00e9galement av\u00e9r\u00e9es \u00eatre associ\u00e9es \u00e0 des maladies oculaires, notamment le k\u00e9ratoc\u00f4ne et le glaucome, soulignant les liens entre l&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur de la corn\u00e9e et les troubles de l&rsquo;\u0153il.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>LE SAVIEZ-VOUS?<\/strong> Plus de 2,5 millions de blessures oculaires sont enregistr\u00e9es chaque ann\u00e9e aux \u00c9tats-Unis seulement, la moiti\u00e9 d&rsquo;entre elles se produisant \u00e0 domicile.
