La d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rescence maculaire li\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2ge (ARMD) d\u00e9crit des l\u00e9sions de la macula, la zone de la r\u00e9tine responsable de la vision centrale des couleurs \u00e0 haute r\u00e9solution. L&rsquo;ARMD, premi\u00e8re cause de c\u00e9cit\u00e9 chez les personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es, touche pr\u00e8s de 160 millions de personnes dans le monde. Cette \u00e9tude d&rsquo;association \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle du g\u00e9nome visait \u00e0 identifier les variantes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques associ\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;ARMD en examinant les g\u00e9nomes d&rsquo;environ 132 000 individus d&rsquo;origine principalement europ\u00e9enne. Les chercheurs ont identifi\u00e9 69 variantes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques associ\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;ARMD, dont 12 sont nouvelles. Certains des g\u00e8nes impliqu\u00e9s fonctionnent dans les voies de r\u00e9ponse inflammatoire et les traits oculaires, tels que l&rsquo;\u00e9paisseur maculaire. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>LE SAVIEZ-VOUS?<\/strong> Il existe deux types de d\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rescence maculaire: s\u00e8che et humide.
