Alors que les facteurs environnementaux comme la nutrition ont une forte influence sur la croissance du corps humain, il est clair que la taille est un trait hautement h\u00e9r\u00e9ditaire. En fait, on pense que jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 80% de la taille d&rsquo;une personne est g\u00e9n\u00e9tiquement d\u00e9termin\u00e9e! Cependant, la hauteur est un trait tr\u00e8s complexe influenc\u00e9 par de nombreuses variantes du g\u00e9nome. Pour identifier les variantes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques associ\u00e9es \u00e0 la taille, cette \u00e9tude a examin\u00e9 plus de 250 000 individus d&rsquo;ascendance europ\u00e9enne. Les chercheurs ont d\u00e9couvert 697 variantes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques associ\u00e9es \u00e0 la taille. Prises ensemble, ces variantes expliquent ~ 16% des diff\u00e9rences de hauteur observ\u00e9es entre les personnes.
