L&rsquo;indice de masse corporelle (IMC), un calcul bas\u00e9 sur la taille et le poids d&rsquo;une personne, est la mesure la plus courante de l&rsquo;ob\u00e9sit\u00e9. Au d\u00e9but de la vie, l&rsquo;IMC fluctue sur trois p\u00e9riodes diff\u00e9rentes: un pic apr\u00e8s la naissance, une baisse jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2ge de 5 \u00e0 6 ans, puis une augmentation jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2ge adulte. Les mesures de l&rsquo;IMC chez les adolescents \u00e9taient auparavant connues pour influencer les niveaux d&rsquo;IMC chez les adultes, mais peu de contribution g\u00e9n\u00e9tique a \u00e9t\u00e9 identifi\u00e9e. Cette \u00e9tude a examin\u00e9 les donn\u00e9es g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques et les mesures de l&rsquo;IMC de plus de 22 000 enfants d&rsquo;ascendance europ\u00e9enne. Trois variantes associ\u00e9es \u00e0 un IMC \u00e9lev\u00e9 chez les jeunes enfants ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9couvertes. Ces variantes sont \u00e9galement associ\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;IMC adulte, ce qui sugg\u00e8re que les m\u00eames facteurs g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques pourraient influencer les deux. Ces variantes expliquent ~ 30% de l&rsquo;h\u00e9ritabilit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;IMC. Cette \u00e9tude a \u00e9galement identifi\u00e9 une nouvelle variante corr\u00e9l\u00e9e \u00e0 une augmentation de l&rsquo;IMC peu de temps apr\u00e8s la naissance, mais cette variante n&rsquo;est pas associ\u00e9e \u00e0 un IMC \u00e9lev\u00e9 plus tard dans la vie.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>LE SAVIEZ-VOUS?<\/strong> Sauter le petit-d\u00e9jeuner est en fait associ\u00e9 \u00e0 une augmentation du poids corporel. He earned an M.S. and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) Ph.D. program at Harvard University.\u00a0He has experience in science policy as an intern at the Science and Innovation Network where he assisted in the science diplomacy functions of the British Consulate-General and as a research associate at TScan Therapeutics.
