Alors que les facteurs environnementaux (par exemple culturels et \u00e9conomiques) sont fortement li\u00e9s au comportement reproductif, on pense que la g\u00e9n\u00e9tique en explique jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 50%. Cette \u00e9tude d&rsquo;association \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle du g\u00e9nome de pr\u00e8s de 700 000 personnes d&rsquo;ascendance europ\u00e9enne a trouv\u00e9 10 variantes associ\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2ge \u00e0 la premi\u00e8re naissance, une mesure couramment utilis\u00e9e du comportement reproducteur. La plupart des variantes d\u00e9couvertes sont beaucoup plus importantes chez les femmes que chez les hommes. De multiples variantes sont proches de g\u00e8nes qui jouent un r\u00f4le dans la production de spermatozo\u00efdes et d&rsquo;ovules, ainsi que dans le processus de f\u00e9condation lorsqu&rsquo;un sperme et un ovule fusionnent. Ces r\u00e9sultats peuvent aider \u00e0 expliquer pourquoi le report de la reproduction peut \u00eatre plus nocif pour certains que pour d&rsquo;autres et aider \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper des m\u00e9dicaments contre le d\u00e9clin de la fertilit\u00e9 li\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e2ge.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>LE SAVIEZ-VOUS?<\/strong> Le risque de syndrome de Down et de certaines autres anomalies chromosomiques augmente consid\u00e9rablement avec l&rsquo;\u00e2ge de la m\u00e8re. Les effets de l&rsquo;\u00e2ge paternel semblent plus faibles.
