Cet acide irrite la muqueuse de l&rsquo;\u0153sophage et, avec le temps, peut entra\u00eener un risque accru de cancer de l&rsquo;\u0153sophage. Alors que pr\u00e8s d&rsquo;un tiers du risque de d\u00e9velopper un RGO chez un individu est suppos\u00e9 \u00eatre h\u00e9r\u00e9ditaire, aucun loci g\u00e9n\u00e9tique li\u00e9 au RGO n&rsquo;a \u00e9t\u00e9 identifi\u00e9 \u00e0 ce jour. Cette \u00e9tude d&rsquo;association \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle du g\u00e9nome de plus de 385 000 individus d&rsquo;ascendance principalement europ\u00e9enne a trouv\u00e9 25 variantes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques qui sont en corr\u00e9lation avec un risque accru de d\u00e9velopper un RGO.
