Bien que cette condition soit parfois consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme une pr\u00e9occupation esth\u00e9tique, elle peut \u00e9galement augmenter le risque de caillots sanguins. Pour identifier les variantes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques qui peuvent pr\u00e9disposer un individu aux varices, cette \u00e9tude a examin\u00e9 les g\u00e9nomes de plus de 490 000 individus d&rsquo;ascendance europ\u00e9enne. 30 locus g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques nouvellement d\u00e9couverts \u00e9taient corr\u00e9l\u00e9s \u00e0 une pr\u00e9disposition \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper cette maladie. Certaines de ces variantes sont situ\u00e9es \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 de g\u00e8nes qui jouent un r\u00f4le dans la formation des art\u00e8res et des veines, tandis que d&rsquo;autres variantes sont \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 de g\u00e8nes li\u00e9s \u00e0 la croissance et au d\u00e9veloppement de nos os. Cette \u00e9tude a \u00e9galement r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 un nouveau facteur de risque pour la maladie: plus vous \u00eates grand, plus votre risque de d\u00e9velopper cette maladie est \u00e9lev\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>LE SAVIEZ-VOUS?<\/strong> Vous pouvez pr\u00e9venir ou r\u00e9duire l&rsquo;apparence des veines bleues ou tordues en faisant de l&rsquo;exercice r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement, en portant des bas de contention pendant la journ\u00e9e et en mangeant des aliments riches en potassium comme les amandes et les l\u00e9gumes \u00e0 feuilles.
