La fonction des cellules gliales est de prot\u00e9ger et de soutenir le syst\u00e8me nerveux. Les gliomes sont une forme de cancer r\u00e9sultant de la croissance incontr\u00f4l\u00e9e des cellules gliales. Pour identifier les variantes de risque de cette maladie, cette \u00e9tude a examin\u00e9 les informations g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques de plus de 11 000 personnes d&rsquo;ascendance europ\u00e9enne occidentale. Cinq variantes associ\u00e9es \u00e0 ce type de cancer ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9couvertes. Les variantes \u00e9taient li\u00e9es \u00e0 des g\u00e8nes qui jouent un r\u00f4le dans le maintien de la stabilit\u00e9 g\u00e9nomique.
