Le cancer de la thyro\u00efde est plus h\u00e9r\u00e9ditaire que la plupart des autres types de cancer et affecte plus de 50 000 personnes chaque ann\u00e9e aux \u00c9tats-Unis. Cette \u00e9tude a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 un score polyg\u00e9nique bas\u00e9 sur 10 variantes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment identifi\u00e9es pour pr\u00e9dire le risque de cancer papillaire de la thyro\u00efde, le type de maladie le plus courant. Les chercheurs ont constat\u00e9 que le score expliquait environ 8% de l&rsquo;h\u00e9ritabilit\u00e9 du cancer dans leur groupe d&rsquo;\u00e9tude. La pr\u00e9diction est devenue plus pr\u00e9cise lorsque le score polyg\u00e9nique a \u00e9t\u00e9 utilis\u00e9 avec des facteurs cliniques pour pr\u00e9dire le risque de cancer.
