L&rsquo;AIS est une maladie courante qui touche 2 \u00e0 3% des adolescents dans le monde. En fait, environ 30% des personnes atteintes d&rsquo;AIS ont des ant\u00e9c\u00e9dents familiaux de scoliose, ce qui sugg\u00e8re que la g\u00e9n\u00e9tique joue un r\u00f4le dans le d\u00e9veloppement de l&rsquo;AIS. Pour identifier les r\u00e9gions g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques associ\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;AIS, cette \u00e9tude a examin\u00e9 les informations g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques de 79 211 individus japonais. Les chercheurs ont identifi\u00e9 20 r\u00e9gions g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques significativement associ\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;AIS, dont 14 sont nouvelles. Ensemble, ces r\u00e9gions g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques expliquent ~ 5% de l&rsquo;h\u00e9ritabilit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;AIS.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>LE SAVIEZ-VOUS?<\/strong> Les femmes sont plus susceptibles de d\u00e9velopper un AIS que les hommes. De plus, les femmes sont 8 fois plus susceptibles de d\u00e9velopper une pire courbure avec le temps que les hommes. Bien que l&rsquo;on ne sache pas pourquoi il y a un biais sexuel, il est possible que l&rsquo;hormone leptine joue un r\u00f4le. La leptine est impliqu\u00e9e pour dire \u00e0 votre cerveau que vous \u00eates rassasi\u00e9 apr\u00e8s un repas et que les femmes ont des niveaux de leptine plus \u00e9lev\u00e9s. <a
