Au cours de cette ann\u00e9e, plus de 8 000 infections dans 26 pays ont \u00e9t\u00e9 signal\u00e9es. Les sympt\u00f4mes du SRAS ressemblent \u00e0 ceux de la grippe et comprennent de la fi\u00e8vre et une toux s\u00e8che. Les cas graves sont courants et entra\u00eenent un taux de mortalit\u00e9 d&rsquo;environ 10%. Cette \u00e9tude a examin\u00e9 les donn\u00e9es g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques de pr\u00e8s de 1000 personnes d&rsquo;ascendance chinoise qui ont re\u00e7u un diagnostic de SRAS. L&rsquo;\u00e9tude a identifi\u00e9 2 variantes associ\u00e9es \u00e0 une sensibilit\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;infection par le SRAS<em> coronavirus<\/em> . Une variante est dans le g\u00e8ne CCL2, qui joue un r\u00f4le dans l&rsquo;attraction<em> macrophages<\/em> \u00e0 un site d&rsquo;infection. L&rsquo;autre variante est dans le g\u00e8ne MBL, qui aide le syst\u00e8me immunitaire \u00e0 reconna\u00eetre les mod\u00e8les mol\u00e9culaires que l&rsquo;on trouve couramment \u00e0 la surface de nombreux virus et bact\u00e9ries. (Remarque: cette \u00e9tude n&rsquo;est pas une \u00e9tude d&rsquo;association \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle du g\u00e9nome.
