C&rsquo;est un trait d\u00e9termin\u00e9 par une combinaison de facteurs environnementaux et g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques. Cette \u00e9tude visait \u00e0 comprendre la base g\u00e9n\u00e9tique du moment de la pubert\u00e9 chez l&rsquo;homme en particulier, en utilisant la rupture de la voix comme indicateur de la pubert\u00e9. \u00c0 cette fin, les chercheurs ont examin\u00e9 les g\u00e9nomes de plus de 200 000 hommes d&rsquo;origine europ\u00e9enne. L&rsquo;\u00e9tude a d\u00e9couvert 76 r\u00e9gions g\u00e9nomiques associ\u00e9es au moment de la pubert\u00e9 masculine, dont 29 sont nouvelles. Ces r\u00e9gions g\u00e9nomiques sont li\u00e9es \u00e0 des g\u00e8nes, tels que ALX4 et SRD5A2, qui sont impliqu\u00e9s dans la signalisation d&rsquo;un facteur de croissance et la conversion de<em> testost\u00e9rone<\/em> en une hormone masculine plus puissante, la dihydrotestost\u00e9rone. De plus, l&rsquo;\u00e9tude a identifi\u00e9 des liens g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques inattendus entre le moment de la pubert\u00e9 et la couleur des cheveux.
