Alors que le NKTCL est rare dans les populations europ\u00e9ennes, il est commun chez les personnes d&rsquo;ascendance asiatique et sud-am\u00e9ricaine. L&rsquo;infection par le virus Epstein-Barr a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment li\u00e9e au d\u00e9veloppement du NKTCL. D&rsquo;autres preuves sugg\u00e8rent que les variantes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques au sein d&rsquo;un g\u00e8ne responsable de la r\u00e9gulation du syst\u00e8me immunitaire contribuent \u00e9galement au d\u00e9veloppement de NKTCL. Les chercheurs qui ont men\u00e9 cette \u00e9tude ont cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 identifier de nouvelles variantes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques associ\u00e9es au NKTCL. En utilisant les donn\u00e9es g\u00e9nomiques d&rsquo;environ 8 500 personnes d&rsquo;ascendance chinoise Han, les chercheurs ont identifi\u00e9 2 nouvelles r\u00e9gions g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques associ\u00e9es \u00e0 un risque accru de d\u00e9velopper un NKTCL. Ces r\u00e9gions g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques jouent un r\u00f4le dans l&rsquo;inflammation et la r\u00e9gulation du syst\u00e8me immunitaire. Les r\u00e9sultats de l&rsquo;\u00e9tude ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 reproduits dans des cohortes d&rsquo;autres r\u00e9gions d&rsquo;Asie de l&rsquo;Est, notamment Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapour et la Cor\u00e9e du Sud.<br\/><\/p>\n\n<p><strong>LE SAVIEZ-VOUS?<\/strong> Les cellules tueuses naturelles (NK) sont un type de globules blancs qui jouent un r\u00f4le important dans la r\u00e9ponse immunitaire inn\u00e9e du corps, fournissant sp\u00e9cifiquement des r\u00e9ponses rapides pour tuer les cellules infect\u00e9es.
