Plus d&rsquo;une personne sur 10 est affect\u00e9e par une somnolence diurne excessive, qui peut \u00eatre un sympt\u00f4me plus large de nombreux troubles li\u00e9s au sommeil comme l&rsquo;apn\u00e9e du sommeil et la narcolepsie. Cette \u00e9tude a examin\u00e9 les donn\u00e9es g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques de plus de 450 000 personnes d&rsquo;ascendance europ\u00e9enne qui ont rapport\u00e9 \u00e0 quel point elles se sentent somnolentes pendant la journ\u00e9e. Cette analyse a identifi\u00e9 42 nouvelles variantes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques associ\u00e9es \u00e0 une somnolence diurne excessive. Ces variantes expliquent 6,9% de l&rsquo;h\u00e9ritabilit\u00e9 de la somnolence diurne. Certaines variantes semblaient \u00eatre li\u00e9es \u00e0 l&rsquo;endormissement (propension au sommeil), tandis que d&rsquo;autres semblaient \u00eatre li\u00e9es au maintien du sommeil (fragmentation du sommeil).
