Ces structures ont des fonctions li\u00e9es \u00e0 la r\u00e9gulation du mouvement, \u00e0 l&rsquo;apprentissage, \u00e0 la m\u00e9moire et \u00e0 la motivation. Dans cette \u00e9tude, le volume des structures c\u00e9r\u00e9brales de 30 717 personnes a \u00e9t\u00e9 mesur\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide de l&rsquo;imagerie par r\u00e9sonance magn\u00e9tique (IRM). L&rsquo;\u00e9tude a identifi\u00e9 des associations entre les variantes g\u00e9n\u00e9tiques et le volume des diff\u00e9rentes structures sous-corticales. Les associations les plus fortes ont \u00e9t\u00e9 trouv\u00e9es \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 des g\u00e8nes du d\u00e9veloppement qui r\u00e9gulent l&rsquo;apoptose (mort cellulaire programm\u00e9e) et la croissance des neurones.
