La maladie diverticulaire survient lorsque la pression provoque la formation de petites poches dans le c\u00f4lon. L&rsquo;\u00e9tude a identifi\u00e9 42 r\u00e9gions g\u00e9nomiques, dont 39 nouvelles, associ\u00e9es au risque de maladie diverticulaire. Certains des g\u00e8nes identifi\u00e9s dans cette \u00e9tude sont importants pour le fonctionnement des muscles lisses, le type de muscles qui permettent aux intestins de se contracter.
