Os c\u00e2nceres de mama s\u00e3o classificados por quais<em> receptores<\/em> c\u00e9lulas cancerosas t\u00eam do lado de fora. Esta classifica\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 \u00fatil para prever resultados e tratamentos eficazes. Os c\u00e2nceres de mama que usam o receptor do fator de crescimento epid\u00e9rmico humano 2 (HER2 +) representam 15-30% de todos os c\u00e2nceres de mama. Os c\u00e2nceres de mama HER2 + s\u00e3o historicamente associados a um progn\u00f3stico ruim e a um aumento da recorr\u00eancia, mas agora existem novos medicamentos que visam especificamente o receptor HER2 e melhoram a sobrevida.
