Mais especificamente, as membranas de nossas c\u00e9lulas s\u00e3o feitas principalmente de gordura. Al\u00e9m disso, as gorduras tamb\u00e9m permitem que certas vitaminas sejam absorvidas pelos intestinos. Em m\u00e9dia, os adultos consomem 44 a 77 gramas de gordura por dia. Para identificar as variantes gen\u00e9ticas que est\u00e3o associadas ao consumo de gordura, este estudo de associa\u00e7\u00e3o do genoma examinou os genomas de mais de 260.000 indiv\u00edduos de ascend\u00eancia europeia. O estudo identificou 6 variantes gen\u00e9ticas associadas ao consumo de gordura. Um deles, a variante rs429358 no<a href=\"https:\/\/nebula.org\/blog\/pt-br\/apolipoproteina-e-apoe\/\"> APOE<\/a> gene e foi anteriormente associada ao risco de doen\u00e7a de Alzheimer. Especificamente, o alelo rs429358 T est\u00e1 associado ao aumento do consumo de gordura e diminui\u00e7\u00e3o do risco de Alzheimer. He earned an M.S. and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) Ph.D. program at Harvard University.\u00a0He has experience in science policy as an intern at the Science and Innovation Network where he assisted in the science diplomacy functions of the British Consulate-General and as a research associate at TScan Therapeutics.
