Ocorre quando as duas c\u00e2maras superiores do cora\u00e7\u00e3o batem fora de sincronia com as c\u00e2maras inferiores. Isso geralmente causa fraqueza e falta de ar. Este estudo procurou combinar fatores gen\u00e9ticos e cl\u00ednicos para prever o risco de AFib em mais de 1000 indiv\u00edduos de ascend\u00eancia japonesa. Confirmando pesquisas anteriores, os pesquisadores identificaram 5 variantes gen\u00e9ticas associadas ao AFib. O estudo determinou uma diferen\u00e7a de 4,92 vezes no risco de AFib entre as pontua\u00e7\u00f5es polig\u00eanicas mais altas e mais baixas que foram calculadas com base nessas variantes. He earned an M.S. and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) Ph.D. program at Harvard University.\u00a0He has experience in science policy as an intern at the Science and Innovation Network where he assisted in the science diplomacy functions of the British Consulate-General and as a research associate at TScan Therapeutics.
