No entanto, os opioides s\u00e3o altamente viciantes, o que pode resultar em uso incorreto e overdoses fatais. Este estudo de todo o genoma de mais de 41.000 indiv\u00edduos de ascend\u00eancia europeia e africana investigou as contribui\u00e7\u00f5es gen\u00e9ticas para o uso e depend\u00eancia de opi\u00f3ides. O estudo identificou 2 variantes associadas ao uso de opi\u00f3ides. Uma das variantes gen\u00e9ticas foi anteriormente associada \u00e0 depress\u00e3o, alcoolismo e<em> neuroticismo<\/em> . Os pesquisadores tamb\u00e9m descobriram que o uso e a depend\u00eancia de opi\u00f3ides est\u00e3o positivamente associados a pontua\u00e7\u00f5es polig\u00eanicas para toler\u00e2ncia ao risco e<em> neuroticismo<\/em> .<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>VOC\u00ca SABIA?<\/strong> O risco de depend\u00eancia de opi\u00f3ides aumenta se os opi\u00f3ides n\u00e3o forem tomados conforme prescrito. Em particular, se os comprimidos forem esmagados para que possam ser injetados ou inalados. Outro fator de risco \u00e9 a dura\u00e7\u00e3o do tratamento com opi\u00f3ides.
