Para identificar os fatores gen\u00e9ticos que se correlacionam com o risco de desenvolver esta doen\u00e7a, este estudo analisou os dados gen\u00e9ticos de 9 estudos anteriores de associa\u00e7\u00e3o do genoma. Com essa an\u00e1lise, eles selecionaram 29.807 variantes gen\u00e9ticas para um estudo mais aprofundado. Essas variantes foram estudadas em 45.290 casos e 41.880 controles de ancestrais europeus. A an\u00e1lise descobriu 41 novas variantes gen\u00e9ticas que est\u00e3o associadas. Enquanto 7 dessas variantes est\u00e3o dentro ou perto de genes conhecidos de susceptibilidade ao c\u00e2ncer de mama, a maioria das variantes est\u00e1 associada a genes que est\u00e3o ligados \u00e0 morte e diferencia\u00e7\u00e3o celular. No total, essas variantes explicam aproximadamente 30% do risco familiar de desenvolver a doen\u00e7a.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>VOC\u00ca SABIA?<\/strong> Mulheres que d\u00e3o \u00e0 luz seu primeiro filho aos 35 anos ou menos tendem a ter um risco menor de desenvolver c\u00e2ncer de mama em compara\u00e7\u00e3o com mulheres que n\u00e3o t\u00eam filhos ou que t\u00eam filhos mais tarde.
