Ocorre quando o cora\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o consegue bombear sangue em uma taxa normal devido ao aumento e enfraquecimento do ventr\u00edculo esquerdo. O ventr\u00edculo esquerdo \u00e9 uma c\u00e2mara do cora\u00e7\u00e3o respons\u00e1vel por bombear o sangue por todo o sistema circulat\u00f3rio. Este estudo examinou 11.700 indiv\u00edduos de ascend\u00eancia europeia e encontrou uma variante gen\u00e9tica no bra\u00e7o mais curto do cromossomo 6 (6p21) que est\u00e1 associada \u00e0 cardiomiopatia dilatada. A variante pode ser ligada a genes que codificam prote\u00ednas do complexo principal de histocompatibilidade. Este complexo desempenha um papel no sistema imunol\u00f3gico, pois ajuda a distinguir as prote\u00ednas produzidas pelo corpo das prote\u00ednas provenientes de pat\u00f3genos.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>VOC\u00ca SABIA?<\/strong> Embora n\u00e3o seja poss\u00edvel prevenir a cardiomiopatia heredit\u00e1ria, voc\u00ea pode diminuir os riscos de doen\u00e7as que podem levar \u00e0 doen\u00e7a.
