Acredita-se que o c\u00f3rtex espesso do c\u00e9rebro humano tenha evolu\u00eddo para cumprir essas fun\u00e7\u00f5es. Para identificar variantes gen\u00e9ticas associadas \u00e0 espessura cortical, este estudo combinou dados gen\u00e9ticos com dados de imagens cerebrais de mais de 50.000 indiv\u00edduos. O estudo identificou 27 regi\u00f5es gen\u00e9ticas, que explicam cerca de 26% da herdabilidade da espessura cortical. Estas regi\u00f5es est\u00e3o pr\u00f3ximas de genes que codificam receptores de laminina que est\u00e3o implicados em<em> neuronal<\/em> diferencia\u00e7\u00e3o e migra\u00e7\u00e3o celular.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>VOC\u00ca SABIA?<\/strong> \u201cCabe\u00e7a-dura\u201d \u00e9 um termo impr\u00f3prio.
