Taking a Kurix Health COVID-19 test
After getting the package, taking the test is quite easy. If you are confused about what to do, you could check out Kurix Health’s official health website and get the online instructions. Below are the steps to perform the tests:
After receiving the package (normally it will arrive 1 business day after ordering), it must consist of the following contents:
- 1 Collection tube with stabilizing solution
- 1 swab
- 1 biohazard and absorbent pad
- Return package
You will provide your sample, including taking a swab from the mouth (throat) and the nose.
To collect the throat specimen, open your mouth and use the swab to collect the specimen on the tonsils (the lateral red regions) in a single sampling of three seconds. If the first attempt makes you feel sick, which is possible, attempt again more gently to get the swab.
You must ensure that you do not immediately proceed with the Nasopharyngeal specimen (nose swab) collection. You will have to wait for a minute as indicated in the instructions.
Use the same swab as used for the throat sample. Tilt your head back 70 degrees and insert the swab into the nostril parallel to the palate (not upwards) until resistance is encountered. Leave the swab in place for several seconds to absorb secretions. Then, slowly remove the swab while rotating it.
To package the sample, insert the swab into the provided tube until the breakpoint is level with the tube opening. Bend the swab shaft at a 180 degrees angle to break it off at the breaking point. You may need to rotate the swab shaft to complete the breakage gently.
Then, insert the sealed tube into the “biohazard bag” and the absorbent pad and close it by removing the adhesive cover strip. Place the Biohazard bag back inside the white box. Insert the white box inside the packaging and ship the sample back to the company address using the Royal Mail Priority Post Box for domestic tests or DHL International Next-Business-Day service for international shipments.
